Its finally here, our first suspension frame; solid, fast rolling 29er geometry thats focused squarely on big trail riding. This is our Enduro frame, but you can use it for whatever you like. The Codeine has been a long time in the making, but we can assure you its been worth the wait.
The geometry is our own, named Winch and Plummet, and utilises measurements that lend the Codeine to fast, powerful riding. Steep seat angles 74 degrees make for efficient, powerful pedaling, with ample bar reach to boot. The low BB offers better ride stability and greater control when leaning into corners, although its not perilously low so dont worry about pedal strike. Head angle, 440mm chainstay length and wheelbase are all designed to give perfect, dynamic handling at all times. Shorter stems are recommended, anywhere between 35-55mm will do you proud. We'd also advise 51mm offset forks (RockShox Pikes have been our choice).
External dropper seat post cable routing is tried and tested. Post size is 31.6mm, clamp size 34.9mm, and the seat tube is externally butted, guarding against those inevitable big hits. Up front our On-One Smoothie Mixer headset is the one youll want, although angle adjust headsets will work in there if you want to alter things a bit.
As ever, we do things differently, and the Codeine is no exception to that. No, you cant run a front mech. Why? Because we never designed it to, instead weve focused on refining our frame geometry to be the best handling 29er around today. With the wide ratio cassettes on the market these days, what do you need a front derailleur for anyway?
